Technical level of bearing manufacturing in China

China's bearing manufacturing technology and equipment technology development is slow, CNC machining rate and grinding automation level is low, there are only more than 200 automatic production lines in China. In most China bearing manufacturers, especially in the state-owned enterprises, traditional equipment is still the main production force.

The advanced heat treatment technology and equipment, which are very important to the bearing life and reliability, have not made breakthroughs in many technical problems.

The research and development of new bearing steel grades, the improvement of bearing steel quality, the research and development of lubrication, cooling, cleaning and abrasive grinding tools and other related technologies can not meet the requirements of China bearing product level and quality improvement.

As a result, the process capability index is low, the consistency is poor, the product processing size dispersion is large, and the internal quality of the bearing product is unstable, which affects the accuracy, performance, life and reliability of the bearing.

In recent years, the quality of China's bearings has been improving and industrialization has been gradually formed. At present, China's bearings account for about 10% of the world's bearing market, and the sales volume occupies the top several in the world.

However, compared with the world bearing industry power, there is still a certain gap between China and the world. The main performance is that the proportion of bearing products with high technology, high precision and high added value is low, and the stability of products needs to be further improved and improved.

Timken Bearing Boosts Vehicle Efficiency

In automobiles, bearing products in key positions of transmission system play a vital role in system efficiency. Timken has rich experience as a global leader in the bearing industry. In traditional fuel vehicles, Timken  tapered roller bearings  are used in many locations, including reducer, differential, force takeoff, wheel end and gearbox etc. In pure electric or hybrid vehicles, Timken's products are mainly used in gearboxes. Application of Timken Products in Automobiles Taking hybrid electric vehicle as an example, no matter how the layout changes, Timken's  efficient tapered roller bearings  can be relied on to improve the efficiency of the transmission system. Since the beginning of the twentieth century, Timken has been making continuous efforts in product application innovation since Timken provided the first tapered roller bearing for automobile customers. Since 2000, Timken has been developing FE bearings for many automotive customers, which ...

Learn more about Wheel bearing-operation method, diagnosis, causes of faults

Wheel Bearing   is the central element of the chassis system, the radial bearing is responsible for mounting the wheel to the steering knuckle and the hub. Car handling depends on this part’s quality and regular maintenance. Types of wheel bearings Single-row radial ball bearings. They require careful installing, as incorrect installation can cause rapid failure of the part. Radial roller or double row bearings. They can handle twice the load of the single row ones. They do not need regular maintenance due to design features. Tapered roller (radial thrust) bearings. They withstand axial and radial load due to the shift in the direction of the rolling elements. The construction of wheel bearings The outer ring. Rolling element. The inner ring. The cage (polymer, steel, stamped, brass or machined). Tips for operating wheel bearings Front hub components are more prone to wear and tear, and therefore require regular replacement. Rear wheel bearing fails less often. To extend the parts ...
